Aprenda como lançar sua coalizão para a mídia, financiadores e parceiros-chave no Instituto de treinamento de meio de ano da CADCA

Coalitions do incredibly important work across the country, helping to protect communities from drug and alcohol abuse, but it can often be a challenge figuring out how to articulate their message to the media, potential funders or other influential leaders. A course at CADCA’s Instituto de treinamento de meio de ano will equip participants with easy, concrete tools to help them perfect their message delivery and how to communicate their approaches to the most critical problems they face.

During “Lights, Camera, Action! How Coalitions Can Effectively Pitch Themselves,” trainers Barb Giniger Cooper, president at Cooper Communications, and Stephanie Lynn Williams, owner and artistic director of the Drama Learning Center, will teach participants how to succinctly present their coalition story; create and deliver a 30-second coalition pitch; answer difficult questions from the press; and pitch their coalition to community influencers. Whether coalitions are new to this course or are “Lights, Camera, Action Graduates,” the class has tools and exercises to help them perform better when they are in the spotlight.

“Marijuana legalization, prescription drug abuse, teen alcohol abuse and being able to defend a budget in front of a board of directors are just a few of the challenges coalition leaders face today, and it’s important to be able to convey your passion, data and commitment to the issues so the information resonates with your target audiences,” Cooper said. “You must be able to deliver your message quickly, effectively and consistently, and this all-day workshop is designed to do just that.”

Participants will be videotaped to practice giving on-camera interviews and will be critiqued by the trainers and their peers. Through hands-on practice, they will learn how to deal with “presentation jitters,” getting rid of the “ums and ahs,” and other habits that may get in the way of message delivery.

“Lights, Camera, Action! How Coalitions Can Effectively Pitch Themselves” will take place on Aug. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the session will be repeated the next day.

It is just one course at CADCA’s Mid-Year Training Institute in Indianapolis, Aug. 2-6 in Indianapolis.
