September 5, 2024 - September 5, 2024
3PM EST

Some make working with youth look so easy while others are highly intimidated even if it is part of their job description. This workshop is designed to empower those who work with youth by providing them with the knowledge and skills to connect and together design a plan for community change. Using Hart’s Ladder of Youth Engagement as a framework, participants will explore and plan to move up “one rung” and sharpen their skills ultimately creating an environment to highlight and hear youth voice. The workshop emphasizes the importance of meaningful youth involvement, moving beyond tokenism to active participation and shared decision-making. The answer lies within our youth!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand and apply Hart’s Ladder of Youth Engagement to ensure meaningful youth participation in discussions and decision-making processes with schools.
  2. Identify one step you can take to engage youth more effectively in your programming.
  3. Facilitate strong partnerships between youth leaders and educational stakeholders to co-create and implement sustainable prevention and awareness programs.
