21st Annual Drug-Free Kids Campaign Awards Dinner
Thank you for your support of CADCA’s 21st Annual 2019 Drug-Free Kids Campaign Awards Dinner!
On Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Gaylord National Hotel’s Riverview Ballroom, hundreds gathered to reflect on the successes and milestones of substance misuse prevention work and took the time to thank those individuals and organizations who devote their time and energy to this critical cause. Our theme Transforming Communities – The Power of Prevention allows us to unite and work together toward the shared ideal of safe, healthy and drug-free communities. Our network of more than 5,000 community coalitions—are making a world of safe, healthy and drug-free communities possible.
Surrounded by stunning views of the Potomac River in the greater Washington, D.C. area, attendees had the opportunity to network and bid on Silent Auction items – all proceeds go directly to funding youth prevention training and resources across the country.
Our Honorees, Roger Krone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Leidos the 2019 Humanitarian of the Year and Brad Dombaugh, Chief Executive Officer, PSA Worldwide Corp, Inc., our Champion for Drug-Free Kids shared remarks at the event regarding the issues of safe, healthy, and drug-free communities. We were inspired by our Youth Honorees, Vrushali Thakkar, Youth Trainer, Stand Strong Coalition Youth Sector, Vernon Hills, Illinois and William Fleck, Youth Trainer, Forks Community Prevention Coalition, Forks, Washington who shared the value of CADCA’s National Leadership Training Institute and the impact it has had on their lives.
In addition, CADCA was honored to share a special video message from Congressman Gerald E. “Gerry” Connolly (D-VA/11th) at the event. In the end, corporate leaders from many sectors, senior Federal officials and many dedicated CADCA coalition members helped make this a special evening for our cause.
Finally, our silent auction was an overall success! Attendees and those unable able to attend bid and won a selection of vacation packages, hotel stays, artwork, sporting tickets and memorabilia, photography services and other great items.
There is still time to join the movement and support community coalitions around the nation. Please donate at https://cadca.org/events/dinner2019/donate .
