A bipartisan group of lawmakers will host a Congressional Addiction Forum, “Advancing Prevention, Treatment and Recovery for Youth” April 29 at 9:30 a.m. on Capitol Hill. The event will bring together various experts to discuss a comprehensive strategy to address youth drug abuse and addiction.

At the forum, attendees will help identify a strategy and plan moving forward to elevate and advance addiction policy. Four key focus issues will include prevention, treatment, recovery and a special panel on families. The prevention panel, which will be moderated by CADCA Chairman and CEO Gen. Arthur T. Dean, will feature Amy Haskins, a Public Health Educator and Project Director with the Jackson County Anti-Drug Coalition; DeJohn Taylor, a youth leader with the Chesterfield SAFE Coalition; and Dr. Mark Wolfson, a Professor of Social Sciences & Health Policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine.

The event is hosted by Senators Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and Congressmen Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) and Dave Joyce (R-Ohio).
