Sector Collaboration Drives Community Change
Looking for ways to truly engage sector representatives to assist in driving community change? We will explore innovative ways to bring all sectors to the table and keep them there. From the school sector to the healthcare sector to the business sector, we’ll take a look at the sectors coalitions need to have around the table to truly make the change they are striving to make. Oftentimes, coalitions do not know who within a sector group they should initially engage or invite to the table. Learn how others have brought people to the table and kept them long-term. Many times, looking at the WIFM (What’s in it for Me) is what really creates true engagement. During this session there will be real life examples shared of how coalitions have continued to work collaboratively to drive change throughout their community.

Race and Injustice
The death of Mr. George Floyd has sparked discussions, protests and policy changes in communities across the nation. However, many communities are unable to address racial injustice because they lack the knowledge and competences to collaborate for change in a constructive manner. There is good news! Coalitions can and have served as leaders to enhance their communities’ collaborative capacities. This session will introduce the concepts of collaborative leadership and implicit bias. Participants will have opportunities to discuss these concepts and how they will apply them in their communities.
