National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month is one of SAMHSA's leading public education efforts and brings together the prevention, addiction treatment and behavioral health fields to rally for individuals and families in recovery from addictions and co-occurring conditions. This workshop will describe national, regional and local strategies to generate activities and events during September 2008 involving community-based coalitions, addiction treatment providers and behavioral health programs. It will also note how other community and business stakeholders have been engaged in collaborations to help broaden support for preventing and treating addictions and co-occurring conditions.
