Description:

Every state and territory in the U.S. has a National Guard Drug Demand Reduction program already in place to help communities reach their goals with respect to drug prevention education. We are a little-known and invaluable resource of which you should definitely take advantage.

During this session, our National Guard representatives will discuss what we offer in support of the anti-drug message. We will highlight some of our top programs; explain the benefits of assisting you, and currently, as in the past, can do so at little or no cost to your communities.

We at DDR can provide trained military personnel to deliver the message of drug-free healthy choices to your schools, Community Based Organizations (CBO's) and Coalitions as well as reinforce the message with military assets such as Helicopters, HMMWVs (Army HUMMER), and other equipment. Many of our DDR personnel are trained to facilitate meetings, assist in strategic planning and can offer many other skills unique to military members. Most state's National Guard DDR programs offer tools such as Red Ribbon, Freedom Calls, Behind the Faces, ROPES, drug ID kits, Stay On Track, in-class drug prevention instruction for youth, CBO's, Parent & Teacher programs, Law Enforcement, and others as a means of supporting the mission to be drug-free. While there are benefits to Army and Air National Guard members wearing uniforms when presenting programs, we do not recruit for the National Guard. We simply work for our youth to be drug-free, healthy, and happy as members of our communities. The National Guard are members of our communities and we are available to assist you toward reaching your goals.
