A grassroots initiative,
Community of Concern®, has been the catalyst for more than 1.5
million parents in 32 states to join in a cohesive effort focused
on keeping youth alcohol/drug free. This session covers ways schools
can become involved in this effort including educational initiatives,
leadership symposia, and e-learning programs.

Learning Objectives:
|
- Understand the educational strategy and content used
to inform audiences about adolescent pressures to use alcohol
and other drugs, and the science of the effects of alcohol on
brain development and addiction.
- Understand how to develop and organize an initiative
to foster communication about underage drinking and drug abuse,
and unite communities to take action.
- Learn techniques for organizing, educating, dialoguing, team building across sectors, and maintaining momentum.
