What are these workshops about?

These workshops will teach the knowledge and essential skills community members need to make a difference. Training will also enhance the capacity of community coalitions to plan and develop programming using SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework.

Back by popular demand, these two trainings are a repeat of the National Coalition Institute’s popular 2-day trainings from 2005.

Training Sessions:

Session I The Strategic Prevention Framework – “What you need to know, what your team needs to do.”
Session II Identifying community needs and resources/Naming and framing identified issues
Session III Analyzing problems and goals/Identifying root causes
Session IV Logic Models –“The picture on top of the puzzle box.”
Session V Creating and Selecting Interventions – “The real difference between coalitions and programs.”
Session VI Evaluation Basics – “When to fire your evaluator”/ Creating an Evaluation Plan
Session VII Sustainability – “How not to leave your survival to chance.”

Workshop Announcements

Who can attend these workshops?

Each Weed and Seed site may register up to 2 weeding-focused members, and 2 seeding-focused members. Drug-Free Community Support Program grantees may register up to 4 people per coalition.

Participants are responsible for costs associated with this training, including travel, parking and meals. There is no charge for the training program or training materials.
