| Purpose
The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to advise CADCA staff on issues of importance to the coalition field, to give input concerning the direction and impact of CADCA programs, and to provide CADCA with regular information from the community level. Responsibilities 1. To give input on CADCA programs in the areas of Public Policy and Research, Membership, Marketing, and Training and Research. To provide specific feedback on the quality and usefulness of CADCA products and services. 2. To recommend program ideas and initiatives that address important needs and concerns among local coalitions. 3. To provide CADCA with quarterly feedback on emerging issues and challenges in the coalition field, evaluation results and innovative program ideas. 4. To serve as ambassadors for CADCA to the coalition field. To market the importance of CADCA membership to coalitions in their state/region. Criteria and Selection 1. The committee will be made up of 10-12 coalition leaders and at least one state association leader, representing ethnic, gender and geographic diversity. 2. Eligible coalition leaders must be paid CADCA members, have served in the field for 2+ years, and attended at least one National Leadership Forum. 3. Committee members will meet three times a year, once in the spring, once in the fall and at the National Leadership Forum. CADCA will pay all travel and lodging costs for committee members. In addition, committee members will periodically meet by conference call to discuss time sensitive issues and concerns. 4. Coalition leaders will be recommended by CADCA staff and approved by the Chairman and CEO. Committee members will serve a term of three years. Any committee member who changes his/her job status of managing a coalition during their three-year term must resign from the committee. A replacement will be selected using the above process. |
